Orders and payment
Do I need an account to order?
No, you can check out as a guest. An account keeps your addresses and lets you follow past orders.
How do I pay?
By bank transfer, in EUR or USD. The steps are on the Payment page.
Can I change or cancel an order?
Write to [email protected] as soon as you can. If the parcel has not left, we change or cancel it. If it has, use the 14-day return.
Shipping
Where do you ship from?
From our makers. You can see where they are on the Shipping page.
Which countries do you ship to?
Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada, South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines. If your country is not offered at checkout, we do not ship there yet.
How much does shipping cost, and how long does it take?
It depends on the destination, the weight and the service. Shipping is calculated at checkout before you pay; options and delivery times are on the Shipping page.
Will I pay import duties?
When your order ships from another country, yes: it is an import into yours, and any import duty, import tax or carrier handling fee is collected on delivery and paid by you. Prices exclude import duties and taxes of the destination country, paid by the customer on delivery (DAP).
Can I track my parcel?
If the service your parcel travels with has tracking, the number appears in Order history, or in Guest Tracking if you ordered as a guest. The Shipping page says which services have tracking.
Returns
Can I return an item?
Yes, within 14 days of delivery, for any reason. Food opened after delivery cannot be returned. The steps are on Returns & Refunds.
Who pays the return postage?
You do, unless the item arrived damaged, faulty or wrong.
Cacao
How do I prepare it?
Chop the paste, warm the water to about 70 °C, not boiling, and whisk until smooth. People usually use 20 to 42 g of paste in 150 to 200 ml of water; start at the lower end the first time.
How do I store it?
In a cool, dry, dark place, not in the fridge, where it picks up smells. The best-before date is on the pack.
Is cacao safe for everyone?
We sell cacao as food and make no health claims. It contains theobromine and caffeine. If you take antidepressants (MAOIs and SSRIs in particular) or heart medication, or you are pregnant, ask your doctor before drinking ceremonial amounts. Theobromine is toxic to dogs, cats and horses; keep it out of reach.
Clothing
How do the sizes run?
Sizes are on each product page. If you want the measurements of a piece before you order, ask us.
How do I wash the clothes?
Cold wash, gentle cycle, no tumble dryer. Wash hand-printed cotton on its own the first few times, because the dye can run.
